Zachary McCormick, MDDr. McCormick is a Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Utah, where he serves as the ambulatory Chief Value Officer, Chief of Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine, and the founding director of the PM&R Spine and Musculoskeletal Research Program. Board-certified in PM&R and Pain Medicine, his practice focuses on both conservative and interventional care of spine and musculoskeletal pain. He earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship training at Northwestern University/The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Dr. McCormick previously served on the IPSIS Board of Directors and as the society’s Treasurer, and he now serves on the Board as VIce President. He serves as an executive editor of Interventional Pain Medicine, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Pain Medicine, as well as on the editorial board of The Spine Journal and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed journal articles and lectures nationally on his research, which focuses on the safety and effectiveness of spine and pain interventions. He has received research awards from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Defense, and various medical societies. |
