Free In-Training Membership

Membership Requirements for Medical Students / Residents / Fellows

  • Current enrollment in medical school; or
  • Current enrollment in an Anesthesiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, or Radiology residency or fellowship; or
  • Current enrollment in an ACGME or NASS-recognized Pain, Spine, or Spine/MSK Fellowship Program; or
  • For physicians residing outside of the United States and Canada, an interest in diagnostic and/or therapeutic pain intervention procedures.

North American Membership

Membership Requirements for Post-Fellowship Physicians Residing in the United States and Canada

  • Current certification in Anesthesiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, or Radiology by a board that is a member of the American Boards of Medical Specialties (ABMS); the American Osteopathic Association (AOA); or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; or
  • Current certification in Pain Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; or
  • Completion of an ACGME or NASS-recognized Pain, Spine, or Spine/MSK Fellowship Program.
  • Exemptions from the above requirements may be granted in special circumstances. Contact membership for further information.

Annual Dues:

  • North American (1st Year Post Fellowship): $145 USD
  • North American (2nd Year Post Fellowship): $395 USD
  • North American Auto-Renew: $575 USD
  • North American: $595 USD


International Membership

Membership Requirements for Physicians Residing Outside the United States and Canada

  • International membership is subdivided into two categories based on economic development levels published by the World Bank. Tier I International Membership is for physicians in the countries listed below. Tier II membership encompasses all other nations not in the Tier I list, excluding the United States and Canada.

Annual Dues:

  • International Tier II Auto-Renew: $155 USD
  • International Tier II: $175 USD
  • International Tier I Auto-Renew: $335 USD
  • International Tier I: $355 USD

Provisional North American Membership

Membership Requirements for Post-Fellowship Physicians Residing in the United States and Canada Actively Pursuing Board Certification

  • Provisional membership may be granted to physicians residing in the United States and Canada who are currently pursuing certification in the specialties listed above in the North American Membership description.

Annual Dues:

  • Provisional Auto-Renew:  $575 USD
  • Provisional: $595 USD

Affiliate Membership

Membership Requirements for Physicians Who Do Not Qualify for North American, Provisional, or International Membership

  • Affiliate membership may be granted to board-certified physicians interested in diagnostic and/or therapeutic spine intervention procedures who do not qualify for North American, Provisional, or International membership categories.
  • Affiliate members are not permitted to attend the IPSIS Bio-Skills Labs.

Annual Dues:

  • Affiliate Auto-Renew: $575 USD
  • Affiliate: $595 USD
