IPSIS Provides RFA Evidence to Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield

Tuesday, January 14, 2020

On January 3, 2020, IPSIS offered evidence to Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield in support of coverage for third occipital nerve and lateral branch radiofrequency neurotomy (RFN) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of the genicular nerves associated with knee osteoarthritis. The Society’s comments refute classification of these procedures as investigational and advocate for coverage in appropriately selected patients.
