IPSIS Encourages Highmark West Virginia to Cover RFA for Knee Osteoarthritis

On January 29, 2019, IPSIS submitted a comment letter to Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia in support of radiofrequency ablation of the genicular nerves associated with knee osteoarthritis. The Society’s comments refute classification of these procedures as investigational and advocate for coverage in appropriately selected patients. Highmark West Virginia serves Delaware, West Virginia, and portions of Pennsylvania.
