IPSIS Comments on Vertebral Augmentation Technology Assessment

Tuesday, October 1, 2024

IPSIS submitted comments 🔒 on the draft technology assessment commissioned by the Washington State Health Care Authority (WA HCA) to assess the safety and efficacy of vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, and sacroplasty. Since 2010, Washington patients covered by state-funded health care have not had access to these procedures.

The WA HCA commissioned this review to inform an upcoming reconsideration of coverage for these procedures. Feedback received by October 3, 2024 from stakeholders, including IPSIS, will be considered with a finalized report expected in mid-October. Once completed, it will be shared with the WA HCA Health Technology Clinical Committee for consideration in making a coverage determination.

A public meeting is scheduled for November 15, 2024, and IPSIS members are encouraged to attend and participate to advocate for appropriate coverage. Click here for more info.
