Spinal Enumeration Survey

Monday, March 18, 2024

There is a lack of consensus and great discrepancy in the spinal enumeration of patients with transitional thoracic, lumbar, and sacral vertebrae. The variance in the nomenclature and enumeration creates an area of risk and concern for discrepancies in the performance and documentation of spine treatments, which can result in wrong-site surgery or spinal interventions. The intention of this survey is to assess the variability in spinal enumeration techniques used in these patients in order to inform the potential development of consensus standardization for spinal enumeration techniques.

This survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. No personal identifying information is requested. (IRB Status: Exempt)
