Promoting SCS Access in Washington State

Thursday, October 5, 2023

On October 2, 2023, IPSIS and 11 other medical specialty societies representing 95,000 members submitted a letter to the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) in response to its second seriously flawed draft evidence report for spinal cord stimulation (SCS).

IPSIS and the Multisociety Pain Workgroup (MPW) stand in opposition to both the findings and the methodology of the draft evidence report.

The HCA will publish the final report on October 18, 2023, and a public hearing is scheduled for November 17, 2023, where IPSIS will represent the interests of our Washington State members and their patients in promoting appropriate access to SCS. More information can be found on the Washington State Health Care Authority website.
