Wesley R. Ibazebo, MD, Represents IPSIS at the September 2023 Chicago AMA RUC Meeting

The International Pain and Spine Intervention Society’s Wesley R. Ibazebo, MD, is representing IPSIS members at the September 2023, American Medical Association (AMA) Relative Value Update Committee (RUC) meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

RUC is the advisory body to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that reviews medical procedures and provides Relative Value Unit (RVU) recommendations. Recommendations approved at this RUC meeting will be presented to CMS for final authorization and publication in the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. IPISIS has been consistently present at these meetings and advocating proper values for interventional pain procedures for 15 years.

IPSIS holds a seat at this and other AMA forums by proving that a high percentage of our members also maintain membership in the AMA. IPSIS urges all members to ensure that their AMA membership is current to assure that the voice of interventional pain specialists continues to be heard.
