Taking on SIRA Whiplash Guidelines

Monday, July 17, 2023

On July 3, 2023, IPSIS submitted a letter 🔒 to the New South Wales State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) expressing concerns regarding SIRA's clinical guidelines for managing people with whiplash-associated disorders.

The letter seeks to correct misconceptions and ensure evidence-informed interventional spine care — specifically cervical medial branch thermal radiofrequency neurotomy (CMBTRFN) — remains available to patients suffering from chronic whiplash-associated pain.
