Neurostimulation Codes - Work Value Survey

A random selection of IPSIS members will soon be asked to participate in a survey to determine appropriate physician time and intensity involved in the performance of the procedures referenced in the codes listed below. Input from physicians familiar with these procedures is integral to determining the appropriate work values for these codes for presentation to the RVS Update Committee (RUC) and ultimately Medicare.

• 63685 Insertion or replacement of spinal neurostimulator pulse generator or receiver requiring pocket creation and connection between electrode array and pulse generator or receiver
  
  
• 63688 Revision or removal of implanted spinal neurostimulator pulse generator or receiver, with detachable connection to electrode array
  

Physicians selected to participate in the RUC survey will receive an email from reimbursement@IPSISMed.org. IPSIS encourages all those who receive the survey email to respond.
