IPSIS Joins the American Medical Association to Advance Medicare Physician Payment Reform

Thursday, May 26, 2022

IPSIS has joined the American Medical Association (AMA) and others in an organized effort to educate lawmakers on much-needed Medicare physician payment reform. The AMA developed a set of payment reform principles that Congress should consider moving forward. This represents the first stage in medicine’s effort to develop and propose substantial changes to the payment system to improve physician practices’ financial viability and ease their administrative burdens. The current payment system has failed to recognize increases in practice costs over the years, and as a result, the system is underfunded. IPSIS will continue to advocate and endorse recommendations that address this issue and other system flaws.
