IPSIS Urges CMS to Collaborate on Appropriate Use Criteria Program Report to Congress

Monday, May 23, 2022

On May 18, 2022, IPSIS joined the American Medical Association and other medical associations in submitting a letter to the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) urging collaboration with physicians and stakeholders as the agency prepares a report to Congress about the Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) program. The letter suggests that CMS re-examine the program and urges action by Congress to address the complexity of the program as well as the burden and cost it will impose on physicians when it is layered, and not integrated, with existing CMS quality programs.
