Graham E. Wagner MD Represents IPSIS at AMA RUC Meeting

Thursday, May 12, 2022

The International Pain & Spine Intervention Society’s Graham E. Wagner MD represented IPSIS members at the April 2022, American Medical Association (AMA) Relative Value Update Committee (RUC) meeting.

RUC is the advisory body to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that reviews medical procedures and provides Relative Value Unit (RVU) recommendations. Recommendations approved at this RUC meeting will be presented to CMS for final authorization and publication in the 2024 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.

IPSIS only holds a seat at this and other AMA forums where issues important to interventional pain medicine physicians and patients are addressed by verifying that a high percentage of our members also maintain membership in the AMA. We urge all SIS members to also maintain AMA membership to assure that interventional pain medicine physicians’ interests are properly addressed.

You can also help sustain this vital advocacy with your donations. The International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS) is a tax exempt organization under US section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, contributions are deductible to the extent allowed by law.
