IPSIS Advocates for Higher Reimbursement of Pain Interventions

Monday, September 13, 2021

IPSIS submitted a comment letter 🔒 to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on September 10, 2021, advocating for revisions to several regulations proposed for 2022, indicating that CMS should:

  • Maintain the 2021 conversion factor through 2022 to avoid payment cuts.
  • Adopt the higher, RUC-recommended, work RVUs for facet radiofrequency neurotomy codes 64633 and 64635 and intraosseous basivertebral nerve radiofrequency neurotomy codes 646X0 and 646X1.
  • Continue coverage and payment for audio-only visits for all office E/M services for a minimum of two years after the end of the Public Health Emergency.

Help sustain this vital advocacy with your donations. The International Pain and Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS) is a tax exempt organization under US section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As such, contributions are deductible to the extent allowed by law.
