IPSIS Recommends Changes to Merit-based Incentive Payment System Value Pathways

IPSIS joined the AMA and dozens of other medical specialty societies in submitting a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) outlining recommendations to promote successful implementation of the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Value Pathways (MVPs). The letter highlights the importance of:

reinventing the approach to performance measurement to ensure MVPs fulfill their goals,
implementing appropriate design and prioritization frameworks,
incorporating a scoring system that incentivizes participation, and
maintaining the traditional MIPS, while encouraging voluntary participation in MVPs.
