IPSIS Represented at AMA RUC Meeting

As part of our continued commitment to health policy and advocacy for our members, IPSIS participates in the AMA/Multi-Specialty Relative Value Update Committee (RUC) three times each year. The first RUC meeting of 2021 is convening remotely January 13-16, 2021, with additional RUC committee meetings that took place virtually in December 2020. IPSIS's RUC Advisor, Wesley Ibazebo, MD, and Alternate RUC Advisor, Graham Wagner, MD, are participating in the remote sessions to monitor and speak to coding and reimbursement issues relevant to IPSIS members. Included in the January 2021 agenda is basivertebral nerve ablation and IPSIS was one of the surveying and presenting societies for this procedure. The recommended Relative Value Units (RVU) for these services will be included in the 2022 CMS Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. The next RUC meetings will occur in April and October.
