IPSIS Joins AMA and 100+ Societies in Urging CMS to Sunset Scope of Practice Waivers

On July 22, 2020, IPSIS along with more than 100 medical specialty societies and associations provided comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) supporting many of the temporary regulatory waivers that CMS issued in response to COVID-19. However, the letter expresses concern about and urges CMS to sunset the waivers involving scope of practice and licensure, affirming support for the physician-led team-based approach to care and vigorously opposing efforts that undermine the physician-patient relationship during and after the pandemic.
