SIS Suggests Changes to BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Facet Joint Pain Policy

On June 7, 2018, SIS addressed BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee’s draft coverage policy on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Facet Joint Pain. The Society offered specific comments on the criteria related to the duration of conservative treatment required prior to a diagnostic injection as well as the policy’s classification of anticoagulation as a contraindication for facet interventions.
