Society Represented at Important Reimbursement and Coding Meetings

Dr. Kieran Slevin represented ISIS members at the AMA Relative Value Update Committee (RUC) on September 18-21, 2014. RUC is an advisory body to CMS and reviews medical procedures to provide value recommendations.

Dr. Scott Horn represented ISIS members at the CPT^® Editorial Panel Meeting on October 7 – 11, 2014. Several coding issues of importance to ISIS members were discussed.

The International Spine Intervention Society remains actively involved with RUC and CPT processes of the AMA. Our physician volunteers and staff are present at every meeting to provide knowledgeable input and justification for proper values of interventional spine codes.
