SIS Represented at Fall AMA House of Delegates Meeting

Monday, December 19, 2016
The Spine Intervention Society was represented by Dr. Claire Tibiletti at American Medical Association’s (AMA) House of Delegates meeting November 12-15.  SIS maintains a delegate seat in order to be eligible for representation at the AMA CPT and Relative Value Update (RUC) processes that allow us to have input on any topics related to coding and reimbursement of interventional pain procedures. Several policy issues of interest to pain physicians were addressed at this meeting including recognizing neuropathic pain as a disease, support and funding for Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) order to reduce opioid production.
