Coverage Policies for Epidural Injections and Facet Interventions

The following Medicare Contractors have posted draft Medicare local coverage decisions (LCDs) on Epidural Steroid Injections, and Facet Joint Interventions: Noridian Administrative Services, LLC; CGS Administrators, LLC; Cahaba Government Benefit Administrators, LLC; and Palmetto GBA. These draft LCDs were developed as a direct result of the recommendations put forward by the Multi-Society Pain Workgroup (MPW). ISIS has been actively participating in the MPW to ensure that interventional pain physicians have a voice in policy development.
