Brian F. White, DO

Dr. White is a Physiatrist at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY where his clinical duties include interventional care of spine and musculoskeletal issues as well as electrodiagnostic medicine. In addition to full time clinical responsibilities, he serves as the Director of the PM&R student program for the Bassett-Columbia Medical School and has an appointment at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in the Department of Rehabilitation and Regenerative Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor.

Dr. White completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and post-baccalaureate studies in Biochemistry at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He attended medical school at Midwestern University - Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and received his PM&R residency training at the Kessler Institution of Rehabilitation / UMDNJ program in West Orange, NJ. After completing residency he undertook fellowship training at the University of Massachusetts where his training included both Interventional Spine care and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr. White is currently board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine. He has further certification and is board-certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine by the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. His clinical interests include interventional spine care as well as musculoskeletal pain and injury. He is also interested in the effects of obesity on these clinical issues as well as the social costs and implications of obesity. He serves as the ‘at large' representative to the musculoskeletal council of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
