William David Mauck, MD

W. David Mauck, MD earned his BS and MD at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He completed an internship at Wilford Hall Medical Center, United States Air Force, Lackland Air Force Base and then served 3 years of active duty. He subsequently completed a residency in Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education.

Dr. Mauck is a consultant and past Chairman of the Division of Pain Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He joined the staff of Mayo Clinic in 2003 and holds the academic rank of Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. In addition to his clinical and research activities, Dr. Mauck is active in education and provides mentorship to many pain medicine fellows and anesthesia residents, among others. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. His affiliations in professional organizations include the American Academy of Pain Medicine, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, North American Neuromodulation Society, and the International Pain & Spine Intervention Society (IPSIS). He has been a member of IPSIS since 2004 and currently serves as an instructor and is Chairman of the Health Policy Division. He serves as IPSIS’s Primary Delegate to the AMA House of Delegates and is an IPSIS Board member.
