Proposed Revisions to Payment Policies for the Physician Fee Schedule Released by CMS – ISIS MEMBERS

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the Proposed Rule for Medicare physician payment policies for 2013.  ISIS continues to analyze the multiple proposals contained in this rule, as well as their implications, and will be submitting comments to CMS.  

One of the most disturbing proposals contained in the Rule is on Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and Chronic Pain Management Services, in which CMS proposes that CRNAs would be reimbursed for these procedures under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, if they are allowed to perform these services in their state.  ISIS members are urged to submit individual comments on this proposal at http://www.regulations.gov/#!searchResults;cs=90;dct=N%252BFR%252BPR;rpp=50;po=0;s=crna
