IRS 1099 Reporting Requirement Eliminated

Friday, January 27, 2012
On April 5th, Senate passed a bill which eliminated a provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) that required businesses, including physician offices, to file IRS form 1099 for any payments totaling $600 or more, made to other businesses, in exchange for goods and services. This action has been sought by physicians to eliminate undue burden in trying to comply with the provision.
