Eric Shoemaker, DO

Dr. Shoemaker is a triple board certified, fellowship trained, interventional spine and musculoskeletal physiatrist. After graduating medical school with highest honors from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he received the Welch Scholars Grant and was on the chancellors list or the deans list each academic semester, he was inducted into the Psi Sigma Alpha National Osteopathic Scholastic Honor Society. He placed in the 96th percentile on national boards and went on to complete his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency training at the University of Colorado. Following residency, he completed the sports medicine and interventional spine fellowship program under Dr. Heidi Prather at Washington University in St. Louis; one of only a small number of ACGME-accredited fellowships of its kind.

Dr. Shoemaker works both in private practice and as an associate clinical professor at Rocky Vista University teaching 4th year medical students who are entering physiatry residency. He has worked with elite level rugby athletes including as a team physician for the Glendale Raptors and a physician advisor for USA Rugby. Dr. Shoemaker was selected for the Spine Physician Advisory Panel for the Colorado Division of Workers Compensation and sits on the Action Committee for the Colorado Pain Society. He teaches musculoskeletal ultrasound as part of the Expert Education Institute and speaks nationally on multiple topics including hip-spine syndrome and the cervical-scapular connection.
