Marcello G. Meli, MDDr. Meli received his medical degree in 1995 from the University of Catania, Sicily, Italy. He obtained his board certification in anesthesiology and pain treatment (2000) after training at both the University of Catania and Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, Northern Ireland.After serving in the Navy, he joined the Anesthetic Service and the Pain Unit at the Son Espases University Hospital in Majorca, where he worked as a consultant for over 10 years. In 2013, Dr. Meli obtained a Master’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Balearic Islands. In 2014, he completed a one-year Master in Degree in Medical Evaluation and Medical Expertise. He also earned a FIPP certification. In 2008, Dr. Meli founded his private multidisciplinary pain practice Aliviam, established in Palma de Majorca, where he has worked full time since 2010.  Dr. Meli is a member of IPSIS since 2013, co-founder of the Balearic Pain Society, and co-founder of Fundación Francesca Nobile, a charity organization devoted to medical teaching and support for pain patients in Spain. He is also member of WIP and Sociedad Española del Dolor. His interests include spending time with his family, cooking, traveling, photography, and mountain hiking. |
