Lon J. Lutz, MD

Dr. Lutz is a board-certified anesthesiologist with additional training in pain medicine. He received a degree in Pharmacy from North Dakota State University, where he graduated as a member of Rho Chi honor society. After a short time in practice, Dr. Lutz attended medical school at the University of North Dakota, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha in 1985. Following 2 years in general surgery, Dr. Lutz completed an Anesthesiology residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, and served as junior faculty for one year before entering private practice.

Dr. Lutz has practiced interventional pain medicine since 1992, and founded the HealthEast pain clinic in St. Paul, MN where he served as Medical Director for 20 years. He has been an International Pain and Spine Intervention Society member since 1994, and has participated as an Instructor since 1996 teaching both U.S. and European courses. Dr. Lutz has been a Master's level instructor since 1998, completing the first Master's course held in Newcastle, Australia by Dr. Nikolai Bogduk. He continues to practice in the Minneapolis St. Paul area, and is actively involved in managing 2 multi-disciplinary ambulatory surgery centers.
