Timothy Kaufmann, MD

Dr. Kaufmann is an Associate Professor of Radiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he specializes in diagnostic neuroradiology and image-guided procedures including spine interventions for pain management. He is active in clinical practice, research, and education, and he lectures and teaches in a variety of contexts locally and nationally. He was recognized for his outstanding clinical work and professionalism with the Mayo Clinic Individual Award for Service Excellence in 2013.

Dr. Kaufmann received a B.S. in Biology and an M.D. at the University of Illinois. He received his Diagnostic Radiology residency training at the University of Virginia and was designated a Research Resident there. He also completed an M.S. in Health Evaluation Sciences from the University of Virginia. He then received Neuroradiology fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology. He has been a consulting staff member at Mayo Rochester since 2004. He is an active member of multiple professional medical societies and serves on the editorial boards of two medical journals.
