Anthony Hammond, MD

Dr. Hammond graduated from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1980 and trained in general medicine and rheumatology in Bristol, Bath (RNHRD) and London (Hammersmith and St Bart's) gaining an MD in 1991 for research in SLE He was appointed Consultant Physician and Rheumatologist at Maidstone Hospital in 1992 and elected FRCP in 1996.

Currently, he is Honorary Consultant and Head of Rheumatology Research at Maidstone Hospital, practices privately in Kent and London and is a founding partner and Clinical Chairman of the Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery, a new independent hospital.

Dr. Hammond has specific clinical interests in immunological therapies for RA and inflammatory arthritis as well as the interventional management of back and neck pain, particularly intervertebral disc derangements. He maintains an active interest in research and is Chairman of the NIHR musculoskeletal division of the CLRN in Kent.
