Sanjeeva Gupta, MD

Dr. Sanjeeva Gupta has been a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at the Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, U.K., since 1999. He has a special interest in precision diagnosis and management of spinal pain, chronic postoperative pain, CRPS, neuropathic pain and interventions in the presence of acute pathological conditions. He is an editor of two Oxford Specialist Handbooks in Pain Medicine and Oncology - Spinal Interventions in Pain Management and Practical Management of Complex Cancer Pain. He is also an editor of the books “Symptom Oriented Pain Management”, “Interventional Pain Management - A Practical Approach” and a Guest Editor of “World Clinics: Pain Management”.

Dr. Gupta was appointed as the Educational Meetings Advisor to the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, London, in October 2009 and has organized several courses and meetings. He is an Examiner for the Faculty of Pain Medicine. He developed the only European Course on Imaging and Investigation in Pain Medicine and is the Co-Director of the Leeds Cadaver Course which has been running successfully for several years now (www.paincourse.co.uk/). He is also an instructor for International Pain and Spine Intervention Society's cadaver courses in Europe.

Dr. Gupta is the Chair of the multidisciplinary spinal pain pathway committee, which developed the British Pain Society and Map of Medicine low back pain and radicular pain pathway. He is the Founder of the North England Pain Medicine Group and is an International advisor for the Global Update in Pain Meeting in Mumbai, India.
